Q-Max EC is a Max-Fan Pro EC fan integrated within a Silencer.
The mixed flow design, together with the 3D rotor stator system and EC technology motor give it the highest aerodynamic efficiency and energy consumption in the range.
The relatively quiet operation of Q-Max EC is the result of the uniform, turbulence free air flow, as it passes through the purpose designed silencer.
The Q-Max EC is German made, compact, and easy to use and clean. It's integrated hangers provide for easy installation.
Up to 10 EC fans can be connected and controlled at once using the EC Fan Controller.
EC stands for electronically commutated and combines voltages of both AC and DC bringing the best of both technologies together to form EC. Not only is an increase in efficiency and cost savings apparent, but EC fans also have a higher level of controllability.
EC speed modulation is more efficient than its AC and DC counterparts. AC motors are designed to operate at a certain point on their performance curve which coincides with their peak efficiency - which is good in constant speed applications. The efficiency can drop considerably on either side of the optimum operating point. An AC motor generally consumes more energy by simply having to produce a magnetic field by inducing a current into the rotor, whilst an EC motor uses permanent magnets giving it an inherent efficiency advantage. They also have a flat efficiency curve which varies relatively little across the speed range. The range is not limited to synchronous speeds or voltage fluctuations as with an AC motor which allows the EC motor to match the performance requirements of an application while maintaining a high operating efficiency.
An EC Max-Fan speed can be reduced right down to 1% while maintaining its efficiency.
